What is Epistemology?
Epistemology is a branch of philosophy concerned with the possibility and extent of human knowledge. It is the way we describe, understand, and way we look at things.
Briefly describe the differences between Constructivist and Positivist.
The constructivist theory is to me deals with more personal interpenetration rather than solid fact that people can see and have different thoughts and view points on. Positivist measures knowledge in more of a factual way, and a solid line on the topic with no if and or buts. It's also factual and proven to make it a law or method. It can be a little easier to understand because there is no room for individual interpretation and everyone can be on the same page.
Which Epistemology do you identify with and why?
I think that I identify with Positive Epistemology because I like facts and clear cut answers. I like having my own opinion and seeing other peoples view on a certain subject and there view point.
I enjoy laws, facts, and methods because its something people can all agree on from all walks of life and view points will all coincide and also have evidence and proof to back up what is being taught.
Good recap. Even though you identify with a positivist epistemology, what areas of flight training might be better suited from a contructivists view? ADM comes to mind? Is aviation education strictly one set fact?
