What is formative and summative assessment?
Formative assessment refers to measurements and conclusions that are made during the course of a learning program. It's intended to determine whether or not an existing program is satisfactory or needs to be modified in some way shape or form before it's complete.
Summative assessment refers to measurements made at the end of a learning unit or learning program. They results in final judgments about the achievement of the learners and the effectiveness of learning activities.
What is the difference between Criterion, Norm and self-referenced Interpretations?
Criterion referenced assessments are intended to determine whether or not a learner has achieved an objectively set level of competence, AKA the preferred method. Norm referenced assessments are normally selected when learners are studying material for which there is no agreement on what a person must know. Self referenced assessments are used when the learning goals are personal.
What is self-directed learning?
Self-directed learning are learners who prefer learning contracts where they can choose both the learning and the assessment activities. They want feedback on how successfully they have integrated alternatives perspectives into there work. They also see educators as colleagues rather than an authority figure, their preference is for self-referenced assessments and/or critiques from two or more peers at both the formative and summative levels.

Visual Auditory and Kinesthetic Learners
Which modality do you learn the best with?
My modality that I learn best with is visual and kinesthtic. I feel that hearing things is useful but I understand and comprehend information more through pictures and hands on exercises where it gets me into what I'm learning and can really experience the material.
Summarize at least 2 points you took out of the article that you will use in your teaching.
One of the points that I took out of the reading is to teach with all of the modalities and not to stick to one because of all different types of students and the way they learn. Knowing and using the appropriate modalities will help yourself and your ability to teach a larger amount students which will better your experience, and ability to teach more to gain more flight hrs.
Another modality I would use in my teaching is to really get to know your student and with getting to know them you can find out which modality the learn best with. I have had first hand experience with this because there have been times where I couldn't understand there teaching style and wasn't conformed to me (the student) to learn what was being taught.

Constructivist vs. Positivist Article
What is Epistemology?
Epistemology is a branch of philosophy concerned with the possibility and extent of human knowledge. It is the way we describe, understand, and way we look at things.
Briefly describe the differences between Constructivist and Positivist.
The constructivist theory is to me deals with more personal interpenetration rather than solid fact that people can see and have different thoughts and view points on. Positivist measures knowledge in more of a factual way, and a solid line on the topic with no if and or buts. It's also factual and proven to make it a law or method. It can be a little easier to understand because there is no room for individual interpretation and everyone can be on the same page.
Which Epistemology do you identify with and why?
I think that I identify with Positive Epistemology because I like facts and clear cut answers. I like having my own opinion and seeing other peoples view on a certain subject and there view point.
I enjoy laws, facts, and methods because its something people can all agree on from all walks of life and view points will all coincide and also have evidence and proof to back up what is being taught.
